PRACTICAL PRINCIPLES TO HELP YOU BEGIN CONVERSATIONS WITH YOUR KIDS ON THESE TOUCHY SUBJECTS. TALKING ABOUT THIS STUFF IS NOT A ONE-TIME THING. WE WROTE THIS BOOK TO HELP YOU HAVE SOME GREAT ONGOING CONVERSATIONS WITH YOUR KIDS.
I am the mother to a young son, and another son on the way. I haven't taken much thought to talking to my boys about this subject yet, but after reading this book I know realize how imperative this is. These discussions need to be had, and will be had. Thanks to Gross', and Dean's book, I now have the much needed guidance and information to one day talk to my boys about these "Touchy Subjects." Every parent needs to read this book!
As a father of five sons, student pastor/mentor/leader AND a delivered former porn addict I can say without hesitation that XXXchurch is doing great work for the kingdom and society at large. I can also affirm that the touchy subjects this book issues are not only very present but prevalent in the church among church leaders, PKs and a tragically large segment of students in iur youth groups. There are ample theological tools to meditate on and I encourage every parent and leader to do so. That said, in my experiences it is real, raw and relevant discussion and accountability that overcome denial and the double-minded living that comes with a divides heart, mind body and soul that share space with this addiction. This book is a timely tool to help you do that. May we train up a generation if Godly men and take back those currently living as POWs behind enemy lines!
When I started reading the book, I couldn't put it down. It was an easy read with so much great information for a parent with children. My kids are 12 and 9 and I definately will be using this book as a guide. It's true, so many parents don't want to talk about the issues written in the book, but if we don't, who will be the influence that takes our place?

This is one of the best books I've seen that deals with how parents should approach their kids when it comes to topics of sex. It's practical and funny but also super informative. Unlike a lot of approaches out there it doesn't give strict guidelines and paint all situations with one big brush. Rather, the authors are insightful enough to understand that each family's, parent's, & child's situations are different. This is a MUST READ for parents.-

Craig Gross & David Dean provide parents, educators and ministers with a practical resource for navigating our world with children. This works so much like a handbook in choppy waters. Great job.-

This is an excellent resource to gain valuable insight on how to approach "touchy subjects" with children. I highly recommend this book.-
Not quite finished this yet, but so far it has been a great read. The tips are very useful and I can see myself using them in conversations with my own kids Thanks-
It's not easy to talk to your kids about sex and social media is constantly changing. I really appreciate Craig and David helping parents know better how to discuss these topics !! Thanx guys !! Help other customers find the most helpful reviews-
I've been working with middle and high school students for 19 years. I've parent two teens of my own, and it's nice to read a book like this! Let me tell you, Craig Gross hits the nail on the head. But what else could one expect from the Porn Pastor. If you are the parent of a kid, know a kid, love kids, have friends who have kids, etc., then you need to read this book. Your eyes will be opened to a lot of things. I would encourage you to buy a stack of these and give them away. It's that good. No joke. And it's an encouragement to this guy, to know that I'm not alone on some of the things I've been doing as a parent. Read this. No really. READ THIS!-
Every parent and grandparent needs to read this! Easy to read. As a parent I was unsure how to approach the subject of sex and porn. This is a perfect read.-
Have not read all the book but am so impressed that they have wrote a book about such an important subject to not let go with out kids. My kids are older but my husband and I did have many talks at different ages of our kids she we felt it was necessary. It doesn't solve all the problems but it does ope up some communication within the family. Thanks David and Craig for being honest and stating what parents need to hear.-
Truth be told, I love these guys and I love their stuff. XXXChurch has continued to be at the forefront of culture, sex, pornography and education for kids, students and parents for years, and this book is solid gold. Broken up into two sections, Craig Gross and David Dean provide guidelines for discussing and implementing a culturally sensitive and healthy environments for the discussion and mentoring of healthy relationships and issues for families today. The questions in the back of the book are deep and profound and honest and all parents NEED TO READ through this because our children will go through the valley, with or without you and your guidance.-
Believers see the world differently than non-believers and I am so thankful for a Christian view on this topic. I'm terrified every time my 8 yr old types in a search on youtube (she's obsessed with singing Frozen songs) because I don't know what may show up. Thankfully this book helps parents navigate the wild waters of raising a child in the technology age. Also, this is a great resource that allows for Christians to minister to other parents who are clueless as to how to talk to their kids. Bring it up at coffee hour when you're talking with other parents and mention that you've found this resource. We all need to help each other here and sharing this book is one way to do it!-
he 28 axioms in part one of the book could be entered into a calendar, an axiom each day, to alert you every 28 days for one year. Great reminders! And, sometimes parents tend to fear being caught off-guard by their child's questions, but part two is really helpful to begin squelching that fear. Great job, Craig and David!-
This book makes the reader aware of the need to have open and honest discussions with your kids because if you don't either someone else or something online will. Too many of us parent's have the mindset of "Oh! Not my kid"-- we see this as failure if our kids access or hear things they shouldn't and sometimes we should see it that way. It is a parent or guardian's job to protect the child physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We are not going to ever be able to control fully what they hear in the presence of others but we can equip them and prepare them to know the truth. I believe this book will help a parent or caretaker understand the need for these discussions (because it is not just one discussion- it should be ongoing) and then move that into action where one can actually take the reigns and begin those conversations without fear. This book is informative-- it is both serious and funny. Definitely a read that is confrontational but necessary and yet lighthearted enough that you feel like the authors are just friends sitting in the living room having this conversation with you. I appreciate that. I don't want just statistics from psychologists-- I want to hear from parents who are doing this right and that is what I felt I got when I read Touchy Subjects.-
